CM Devendra Fadnavis & Union Minister Nitin Gadkari chaired a meeting to review & support National Dairy Devpt Board (NDDB) project for increasing milk production in Vidarbha & Marathwada.
Union Minister Dr Subhash bhamre, Ministers Girish Mahajan, Mahadev Jankar & C bawankule were present.
Decisions for making land available at Amravati, Wardha, Nagpur & Chandrapur taken. Additional funds from Government of India strengthening implementation mechanism with in all possible ways, digital monitoring of entire NDDB project are the other decisions taken in this meeting.
Currently this project is being implemented in 1047 villages.
More than 23,000 farmers benefited by now (number increasing every week) with collection of more than 1.5 lakh litre milk per day.
Presentation also made by NDDB for procurement and marketing mechanism.
Out of the total 11 districts, work has already begun in 9 districts.
Payment of ₹75 crore done so far to farmers.
NDDB is also making available seeds to farmers for quality fodder. Specialised training program, animal healthcare are some of the other initiatives by which 2500 animals got added in around 300 villages in the initial stage itself.
